EuroKids Adds Another Pre-School

EuroKids School started its operations in 2001 with two pre-schools. It is India’s largest pre-school chains with more than 600 schools spread across the country and its neighbours - Nepal and Bangladesh. EuroKids is owned by EuroKids International Limited, which was formerly known as Egmont Imagination (India) Limited. On the occasion of completing three years of its presence in Kathmandu, it recently introduced another branch at Jaldhunga Marg, Bansbari, Kathmandu.

EuroKids (Tangal branch) Kathmandu is a venture of IEC School of Art & Fashion and is a multifaceted ISO 9001 certified school. It follows the Montessori format teaching methodology, and follows Mahatma Gandhi’s three “H’s” principle – using the Head for thinking, Hands for constantly creating and putting the Heart into everything that is done. It also adheres to the ways of Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore’s ideology with its spacious classrooms and sufficient playgrounds for the little ones to learn and grow.

Wild Earth Himalayan Plant Alchemy Workshop and Open House
February 13, 2010
Fresh herbal products, complementary foot massage and organic appetizers infused with aromatic Tibetan incenses filled the sunny Saturday afternoon at Wild Earth’s Himalayan Plant Alchemy Workshop and Open House. Celebrating fine dining Utsav Restaurant
Lal Durbar, Durbar Marg

Utsav brings the charm and the elegance of an old palace, and perfectly complements the ambience with traditional Nepali cuisine. Located beside Jai Nepal hall, the walls of the restaurant are of Nepali bricks that are beautifully decorated with engraved statues of various deities. Traditional clay tiles make up the floor, all adding to the atmosphere of a cozy Nepali home. All of this is topped off by wonderful lights (which resemble mini-lanterns that are used in rural areas) in the ceiling, and which are as aesthetically pleasing as they are practical. There are balcony-like side tables that overlook all the action below. A perfect place for a dinner for two or a small family. For more private dinners, there are small compartment rooms where guests can sit down on the floor and enjoy the food amidst brilliantly crafted portraits of bygone eras.

Utsav offers an array of exquisite and sumptuous Nepali and Newari cuisine that are bound to leave every visitor with an unforgettable experience of the real taste of our country. Starting off with the customary Newari Aila (Newari liquor), diners can indulge in an array of authentic traditional food, all served in big thalis.

Guests can also enjoy daily musical and cultural shows performed on the stage located at the end of a long courtyard that can accommodate 120 people. Features from various ethnic groups showcase the striking diversity of our country, and guests can enjoy their meal while listening to the beats of traditional Nepali instruments like the madal, sarangi, bansuri, harmonium, panch baja, among a host of other instruments.

So if you are in the mood for a taste of authentic traditional Nepali and Newari fare, Utsav Restaurant is open every day from 6 pm onwards. For bookings, call 4430170.
